With Nash Racela’s recent call-up to the professional leagues, the FEU Tamaraws will look to return to their 2015 championship form with Nash’s older brother, PBA great Olsen Racela as their new head coach.

On the official website of Far Easter University, it was announced that former Petron Blaze head coach Olsen Racela will be having his first coaching stint at the collegiate level in UAAP Season 80, leading the Tamaraws in their charge back to glory.

Olsen replaces his younger brother Nash Racela who after four seasons with the Tamaraws amassed a 40-16 win loss record during the elimination round, a 7-7 record in the Final Four and one UAAP championship in 2015.

The FEU head coaching post was vacated after Nash Racela was called up to coach the TNT Ka Tropa even before the UAAP Final Four started this season.

Olsen had a short stint as head coach of the Petron Blaze and has since served as an assistant to Coach Tim Cone. He was also the head coach of the national youth team in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.  Like Nash, Olsen is also an alumnus of Ateneo and a former Blue Eagle.
