Currently tied at 3-2, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and Globalport Batang Pier will aim to edge the other as the two teams collide tomorrow.
It’s going to be a battle of the backcourt trio in Cabagnot-Romeo-Pringle and Lee-Alas-Tiu. OH WAIT I FORGOT. Alas is now flourishing at TNT and Tiu is sidelined for who knows how long. Not to mention that Paul Lee is not 100 percent healthy too. Nonetheless, we still expect the Lethal Weapon, with the help of TY Tang and Jon Uyloan, to facilitate the offense for ROS and go head-to-head with the floor generals of GBP.
Both the Painters and Batang Pier just came from convincing victories with Jeff Chan (23 points, 4-of-8 from downtown, 10 rebounds) and Ronjay Buenafe (17 points, 4-of-8 from downtown) leading their respective squads. Who among the two can continue to shoot the lights out will be a major factor in this game. Frontline-wise, ROS is looking more solid and versatile than their counterpart. Extra Rice Inc’s physicality and range will be tough to handle for the Globalport bigs.
Aside from Chris Tiu, Ryan Arana and Jireh Ibanes are also nursing injuries and will likely sit out. Despite their absence, Rain or Shine’s roster is still deep enough – and motivated enough after Guiao’s stern warning to perform better, else they get traded – for them to grab their fourth win.
