It’s quite amazing to see how much HumbleBola grew from its humble (yup) beginnings. From a one-man team blogging and crunching the numbers for the Ateneo Blue Eagles to a small family of dedicated and passionate basketball enthusiasts building the site from the ground up to bring you a more advanced and critical look at Philippine basketball, primarily the PBA and UAAP.

In order to dish out intelligently crafted and wonderfully written articles on basketball and advanced metrics, we’ve been making changes here and there. We’re rebuilding the entire team and the blog both internally and externally. The goal is to provide you the resources and the tools to look at basketball more intelligently, critically and logically.

Right Now

We’re a small team but we still want to give you quality articles so we’re changing our game for this year’s coverage of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Instead of the usual pre-game and post-game articles, we’ll be dedicating our coverage into picking out the best topics, the most peculiar details and the controversial outcomes and providing a different perspective on it – using the lens of advanced metrics and statistics. As the team grows and develops their own skills, we’ll start shifting back to a more rigorous and game-to-game coverage.

Continued Interaction

As you may have seen from our Facebook and Twitter pages, we’re looking for people who can join our group as part of our Social Media Team. We want to make make sure we get back to all your questions and your comments, because what we’re trying to build here is a community.

Here in HumbleBola, we encourage conversation and interaction. Our writers have their own opinions, backed with advanced metrics and other logical factors, and we encourage you guys to interact with them. Let us know what you think about the articles, about the writers’ opinions!

From here on out

What we’re striving for now is consistency and quality. So you can expect all our efforts to be geared towards that. We’ll be posting at least two articles on our PBA coverage weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on March 25. For now, we’ve got two shiny articles for you:

Stat Session: Buckets, Thefts and Ninjas

In Depth: Pido’s future with Globalport

So, read up and tell us your opinion! We’ll be waiting for you :)
