The Globalport Batang Pier backcourt duo of Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle went on a tear to put on a show, dazzling the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters to a 117 – 99 ticket to the playoffs.
Nobody could stop Terrence Romeo who went supernova to score 44 points from 53 percent shooting from the field off 8 three pointers while grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. But he wasn’t alone as Stanley Pringle was close by, dropping 28 points off 6 three pointers, grabbing 6 rebounds and also dishing 4 assists.
Meanwhile Rain or Shine’s only bright spot was Negros sniper Jeff Chan, who despite finishing the game with 26 points only made 2 three pointers all game long. Only he and Jay Washington finished the game for the Elasto Painters in double-digits.
On the frontcourt, the now defunct “Extra-rice Inc.” collided under the paint. While Beau Belga won the battle of the boards, out rebounding J.R. Quinahan 9 to 3, Quinahan won the battle of the points outscoring his former co-incorporator 11 to 7.
After the win Globalport Batang Pier now joins the 2nd place logjam while Rain or Shine needs to win their Wednesday game to get back into the logjam themselves.
