After a disappointing Manila Clasico outing, the Purefoods Star Hotshots look to put its 1-3 win-loss record behind them and start anew against a dangerous squad that dealt Purefoods’ Manila Clasico rivals Ginebra a beating (97-81) in the NLEX Road Warriors (2-3).

Purefoods now find themselves in a must-win game against NLEX as another loss would put them in a deeper hole in the team standings. If they win this game, they would be in a better position to go on a winning streak as the conference approaches its tail end and they’re up against relatively weaker opponents (BWE, MER, KIA) in their next few games.

Even though still struggling on offense early this conference, Purefoods, as a unit, must be able to bring their A-game on the defensive end this game for them to secure a W. With the current state of the team, Purefoods must first focus on regaining their lethal championship form on defense and points, offense will eventually follow.

This game would be a challenge for sure as Taulava and company are also looking to bounce back from a sorry loss against SMB (79-76) in their last game. But with their backs against the wall, the Hotshots know that it’s time to step on the gas and win games and will go into this game more focused than ever.

Fearless forecast: Purefoods wins by 10.
