The Purefoods Star Hotshots (4-1), got tripped for the first time this conference in their last game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. It was the first solid test for Purefoods as they faced a team that’s in the upper half of the league today. The result was disappointing as they succumbed to a highly physical and relentless ROS squad led by Paul Lee and Beau Belga.

Good thing for Purefoods, they have a chance to get back to the winning track right away as they’ll be facing a team that’s in the lower half of the PBA today in the KIA Carnival (1-4).

Although by the numbers, Purefoods has the clear advantage against KIA, there is still a possibility for an upset. Bilog ang bola, lahat possible. The Hotshots must be very cautious as they are facing the “giant killer” of the league in KIA. If you want to know more of this, just ask the San Miguel Beermen.

For this game, there are only two players that they must keep in check: PJ Ramos and LA Revilla. PJ Ramos, the 7’3” giant of an import of KIA has been putting up solid numbers for his team. Daniel Orton and the rest of Purefoods’ bigs must be able to lessen his impact in the game. One is by gang rebounding and defending him well and the other is to put the guy in foul trouble. Attack his defense and put him on the bench. As for LA Revilla, he’s played well in KIA’s two wins this season. For Purefoods to get this win, they should be wary of LA Revilla and not let him orchestrate well for the Carnival.

All in all, this is a game Purefoods can win, and should win. After the final buzzer sounds, the Hotshots should be enjoying their fifth win with KIA absorbing another loss this conference.
