Sakuragi is back!

The Purefoods Star Hotshots has been missing his services for already two games this conference. The result? A seemingly familiar 0-2 win-loss card: cellar dwellers, at the bottom of the team standings.

With unfortunate injuries to key players (Ian Sangalang & James Yap) as well as this woeful start by the team, Gilas Pilipinas Forward Marc Pingris’ rest had to be cut short. In tomorrow’s game against the Globalport Batang Pier, Pingris will make his return to the hard court to bolster the depleted front line of the defending champions and to get the Hotshots’ 2015 campaign going.

But for sure, the young and refueled Batang Pier side will be looking to spoil Pingris’ and the rest of the Hotshots party. The trio of guards that drive Globalport’s offense: Romeo, Cabagnot, and Pringle (who’s been impressive so far) should be the focal point of Purefoods’ defense (i.e. Barroca, Melton, and Mallari) for them to finally barge into the win column; for them to get back to their winning ways.

And with Purefoods’ “heart and soul” back at the helm, lista mo na ‘yan: Hotshots get their first W of the conference against the Batang Pier to move up, 1-2.
