Coach Boyet Fernandez is about to reunite with his former team, the San Beda Red Lions, after a 2-year absence.

After winning two titles with the Red Lions in Season 89 (2013) and Season 90 (2014) and amassing a 28-8 record in the elimination and a 7-1 record in the playoffs, Coach Boyet was tapped to lead the NLEX Road Warriors.

Coach Boyet never really found his groove as an NLEX coach. In two seasons as the head coach, the NLEX Road Warriors finished with a record above .500 only once and the team totaled 28-36. They entered the playoffs in 5 of 6 conferences but never won a playoff game. He was replaced by Coach Yeng Guiao for the 2015-16 PBA season.

Coach Boyet will fill the void left behind by Coach Jamike Jarin, who is tapped to lead the National Bulldogs for Season 80 of the UAAP after leading the San Beda Red Lions to 2 Finals appearances and 1 title during his 2-year stint there.
